The Deveraux Group of Companies: Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies

The Deveraux Group of Companies, an award-winning leader in property development and management, today announced that it has been recognized for overall business performance and sustained growth with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation.

The 2019 Best Managed program award winners are amongst the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $15 million demonstrating strategy, capability and commitment to achieve sustainable growth.

Now in its 26th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the calibre of their management abilities and practices. Deveraux is the 19th company in Saskatchewan’s history to receive the Best Managed designation.

The Deveraux Group of Companies has a unique strategic approach with purposeful vertical integration fuelling the growth and evolution of its related entities across a variety of business sectors. Deveraux’s organizational model of build, own, operate and optimize provides a competitive advantage and enables them to control the quality of all aspects of the build process and post-construction experience. Deveraux’s success has been recognized both regionally and nationally, with the prestigious Regina and Region Home Builder of the Year award, the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce ABEX award for Growth and Expansion, and the Canadian Federation of Apartment Association’s award for Rental Development of the Year.

“This year’s Best Managed winners are a testament to the success found when businesses invest in talent, innovate intentionally, and think long-term,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “These companies should be proud of this achievement, and their responsibility in acting as role models for other Canadian businesses.

Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel comprised of representatives from program sponsors in addition to special guest judges. 2019 Best Managed companies share commonalities that include a clear strategy and vision, investment in capability and commitment to talent.

“To be recognized with an award of this magnitude and to be honoured amongst such an esteemed group of businesses and business leaders, is both exciting and humbling,” said Denis Jones, President and CEO, the Deveraux Group of Companies. “We owe this success to our employees, clients and industry partners. The unwavering support of each of these stakeholders has allowed us to grow, evolve and offer best-in-class properties and services. We look forward to the future and to continued expansion across western Canada.”

2019 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 17, 2019. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.

The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business, and TMX Group.
