Environment, Social & Governance
The Deveraux Impact Plan is a roadmap used to guide and advance our Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) commitments. Embedded in our corporate strategy, we have set ambitious ESG goals with a focus on reducing our carbon footprint and environmental impact, providing a healthy work environment where everyone feels safe and valued, and continuously demonstrating strong corporate practices and citizenship.
Sustainability
We’re committed to supporting net-zero GHG emissions by 2050, integrating energy-efficient designs, innovative technologies, and waste reduction strategies into every aspect of our communities. Our developments exceed National Energy Code standards by up to 25%, and we continuously upgrade existing properties with energy-efficient fixtures, appliances, and insulation. Looking ahead, we’re investing in advanced HVAC upgrades, real-time utility tracking, and intelligent building management systems to drive sustainability even further.
Giving Back
We prioritize community engagement through contributions, fundraising, mentorship, and volunteering, supporting charitable organizations across key areas. As industry leaders, we actively contribute to local communities through donations and initiatives. Here are a few of the ways we give back:
Food Security
Annually, we participate in the ‘12 Days of Giving’ campaign, partnering with the Regina, Calgary, Harvest Manitoba, and Edmonton Food Banks to help alleviate hunger in response to growing food insecurity. Each year our staff and residents provide thousands of meal equivalents to those in need.
Sport
Community sports promote physical health, teamwork, and a sense of belonging. We proudly support Grassroots Rugby and became the headgear sponsor for a national ski-cross athlete. We’ve also championed youth hockey and volleyball, providing financial support and coaching.
Housing
Our ongoing support of Ronald McDonald House reflects our commitment to providing a “home away from home” for families in medical crisis. We also take pride in providing affordable housing solutions through partnerships with municipal and provincial housing authorities in MB and SK.
Vulnerable Populations
We have supported a variety of individuals and organizations in need, including women’s shelters, children health initiatives, and newcomer organizations. Notably, during the Syrian refugee crisis, Deveraux helped to settle over 60 families forced from their homes.
