Denis Jones

President and Chief Executive Officer

Denis Jones is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Deveraux Group of Companies, comprising Deveraux Asset Management Inc., Deveraux Developments Ltd., Deveraux Apartment Communities Inc., and Deveraux Subsidiary Companies. Denis started his professional career as a medical doctor specializing in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine before co-founding the Deveraux Group in 2008. Since founding Deveraux, Denis has successfully grown the organization into a recognized leader in the development and management of large-scale multi-family residential communities across Canada’s prairie provinces. Under his direction, the company currently manages over 4,000 stabilized apartment units, with approximately 4,000 additional units in development. Denis was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year, overall winner for the Prairies in 2024. 

Denis is also the largest individual investor in the Auctus Group and serves as Chairman of the Board for Auctus Property Fund LP. His extensive board experience includes current roles with Shawnigan Lake School and BC Rugby, as well as a past role on the SaskEnergy Board, contributing to the Audit & Finance and Business Development Committees.

Jamie McDougald serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Deveraux Group of Companies, a role he has held since July 2013. Jamie oversees the organization’s strategic operations and provides critical guidance to a rapidly growing professional team. With a Master’s degree in Leadership from Michigan State University, he brings extensive senior leadership experience in human resources, marketing, policy development, and strategic planning from both private and public sectors.

Jamie currently serves as Past President and Board member of The Saskatchewan Landlord Association, which represents and advocates on behalf of Saskatchewan landlords. In addition, he previously served as a Board member of Habitat for Humanity Regina, as well as the Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations. In 2024, Jamie was awarded ‘Executive of the Year’ by Rental Housing Saskatchewan.

Colin Woloshyn has been Chief Financial Officer at the Deveraux Group of Companies since October 2012, managing critical financial, accounting, and administrative functions. As a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 20 years of experience, Colin specializes in corporate finance, tax planning, strategic planning, risk management, and corporate governance. Before joining Deveraux, Colin was Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Alliance Grain Traders Inc., managing key M&A activities and integrations.

Colin began his career at KPMG LLP, spending over 13 years in public accounting, where he led diverse client engagements and strategic projects. He has also contributed to the community as a past Board member of the University of Regina Alumni Association.

Kevin Gelsinger is the Senior Vice President of Construction and Investor Relations and a co-founder of the company and, as such, has been instrumental in Deveraux’s success since its establishment. With over 40 years of experience, Kevin is an expert in multi-family and commercial construction. He oversees all construction projects, directly shaping each development within Deveraux’s portfolio. In addition, he plays a crucial role in investor relations, fostering lasting partnerships and business growth.

Kevin holds a diploma in Electronic Communications with a specialization in Computer Technology and previously served on the board of the Auctus Group from 2014 to 2017. His wealth of experience ensures Deveraux consistently delivers excellence in construction quality and strategic investor engagement.

Jared McDougald is the Vice President of Design and Development at Deveraux, where he oversees project layouts, suite designs, and architectural planning from concept to construction. Since joining the company in 2011, he has played a critical role in shaping Deveraux’s communities, ensuring thoughtful and functional design. In addition to his role at Deveraux, Jared is an operating partner of Latitude 50, which produces custom millwork and signage, and Strategic Building Supplies, which procures construction materials.

With a background as an AutoCAD technologist, Jared brings technical expertise and hands-on experience in design execution. His previous experience as a restaurateur gave him a strong foundation in business management and operational efficiency, skills that continue to inform his leadership at Deveraux.

Sheena Reyes Keslick is Senior Vice President of Operations at Deveraux, bringing over 20 years of experience in property operations and strategic leadership. She excels at identifying inefficiencies and driving performance, leading high-performing teams with integrity and vision. She has overseen large-scale portfolios across Western Canada, including nearly 19,000 units for a publicly traded company. Her expertise spans operations, capital planning, HR, and facilities, delivering strong financial outcomes and long-term growth.

Sheena holds an Executive MBA in Real Estate Leadership from the University of Fredericton and studied Property Management at Mount Royal University. She holds the ARM designation, is a CPM candidate, and is an active member of the Real Estate Institute of Canada. A recipient of the Golden Book Leadership Award from Dale Carnegie Training, she is passionate about mentorship and leadership development. Sheena serves as Chair of Rental Housing Saskatchewan and has been on its board since 2015.

Committed to community service, Sheena leads fundraising and clothing drives and helped establish food resource centers in Calgary, earning provincial and federal recognition.

Sameer Remtulla is the Vice President of Real Estate and Project Development at Deveraux, bringing over 15 years of experience in the real estate development industry. He specializes in strategic project development, development approvals, owners’ representation, and investment management. Since joining the company in 2021, he has led the design and development team, ensuring efficient project execution and seamless collaboration with local governments. He also identifies new development opportunities, leveraging market trends and sustainability practices to position Deveraux as an industry leader.

Beyond his role at Deveraux, Sameer is the Chair of the Purpose-Built Rental Committee with BILD Calgary, a builder and developer advocacy organization. He also serves as a Director for the Manavta Project, a Canadian charity focused on improving sanitation infrastructure in developing countries.

Laurissa Janssen serves as Vice President of Leasing and Property Administration and has been a dedicated member of the Deveraux team for over seven years. She is responsible for developing and implementing leasing strategies that support Deveraux’s growth objectives and operational efficiency. Laurissa oversees daily operations including tenant relations, lease management, and team leadership, focusing on fostering high-performing teams and professional growth.

Laurissa holds a Public Relations Diploma from the University of Regina and is currently pursuing her CPM designation through the Real Estate Institute of Canada. With over 15 years of customer service and sales experience across the retail and finance sectors, Laurissa has progressively advanced her career at Deveraux from Leasing Associate to Site Manager, then Director, and now Vice President.

Jeff Berner joined Deveraux five years ago and now serves as Vice President of Operations, Facilities and Acquisitions at Deveraux. A dedicated leader, he oversees policy and procedure development, capital improvement planning, commercial tenant relations, insurable event management, and risk mitigation strategies. He also leads acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions from development to active operations, and spearheads strategic initiatives within Deveraux’s ancillary businesses, including launching eSpot, the internal parking management platform, expanding FENYK – Coffee and Social, and advancing property technology solutions.

Prior to joining Deveraux, Jeff was a successful small business owner for 16 years, where he developed a strong entrepreneurial approach and strategic operational insight. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, leveraging his deep understanding of human behaviour to enhance operational efficiency and workplace safety and to foster innovation across the organization.

Samara Quinton is the Vice President, Finance and Accounting for Deveraux Developments. Having joined the company in 2021, she leads financial reporting, treasury functions, forecasting, and tax compliance across construction and various other Deveraux Group entities. Samara possesses over 15 years of specialized experience in finance and accounting within the real estate and construction sectors.

Before Deveraux, Samara managed financial reporting and compliance at Brookfield Residential, overseeing multiple divisions including housing, land development, and commercial properties. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), she began her career at Deloitte LLP, auditing a diverse portfolio primarily within the construction and real estate industries.

Andrew Watt has been with Deveraux since 2016 and serves as Vice President, Finance and Investments. In this role, he oversees accounting and financial reporting for the Auctus Property Fund and Deveraux Apartment Communities, ensuring sound financial management. He also plays a key role in investor relations, working closely with major investor groups to support Deveraux’s growth. With his strong leadership and financial expertise, Andrew provides strategic guidance that contributes to the company’s continued success.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina and earned his CPA designation in 2009, followed by the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2015. His career began at Virtus Group, a Regina-based accounting firm, before moving to Deloitte, where he gained extensive experience in audit and taxation. Since 2009, Andrew has served as Vice President of Finance for the Regina Thunder Football Club, demonstrating his commitment to financial stewardship and community involvement.

Kate Donahue is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, overseeing marketing strategies across Deveraux Asset Management, Deveraux Developments, and Deveraux Apartment Communities. With over 20 years of industry expertise, Kate has effectively led impactful strategic marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and brand development programs. Her marketing career began at Concert Properties, where she established foundational expertise in the development industry.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alberta and is committed to delivering creative, data-driven marketing solutions. Outside her role at Deveraux, Kate is active with the Gadsden Initiative through the Victoria Foundation, supporting philanthropy among Millennials.
